1大熊走过树林，听见小小鹪鹩说：我的孩子最漂亮！熊笑着说：那我们比一比吧。A big bear walks through the woods and hears a tiny wren say: my children are the prettiest! The bear laughs: then let's have a contest.
2鹪鹩请小虫、青蛙和松鼠来当裁判。大家围成圈，看谁跳得轻、谁唱得甜。The wren invites bugs, frogs, and squirrels as judges. Everyone gathers in a circle to see who hops lightly and who sings sweetly.
3熊的孩子力气大，鹪鹩的孩子歌声美。大家发现：好看的办法不一样，每家都有自己的优点。The bear's cubs are strong; the wren's chicks have lovely songs. Everyone finds: beauty comes in many ways—each family has its own gifts.
