1士兵穿着又厚又响的水牛皮靴走夜路，「咚咚咚」像敲小鼓。A soldier walks at night in thick, loud buffalo-leather boots—"thump thump" like a little drum.
2树林边有几个捣蛋贼想抢他的背包，士兵眨眨眼，把靴子脱下来立在路边。Near the woods, some mischief-makers want his pack. The soldier winks, takes off the boots, and stands them by the path.
3他躲在树后，用力踢树干，靴子「咚咚」晃个不停，好像有巨人在走路。He hides behind a tree and kicks the trunk. The boots wobble "thump thump," as if a giant were walking.
4捣蛋贼吓得拔腿就跑。士兵穿好靴子，笑着把路上的迷路小狗送回了家。The mischief-makers run away. The soldier puts his boots back on and cheerfully walks a lost puppy home.
